It’s so easy to forget to take care of yourself. I know I frequently do and it never seems like a big deal until I realize that my confidence and therefore happiness levels are low. Small things such as exercising daily for half an hour, or properly removing my nail polish (once it’s chipped) are things that can make all the difference!
When I know I haven’t taken the time to do my hair, haven’t exercised in a while, my nails look gross and I haven’t lotioned my legs in days, I feel cruddy! I mean sure I’ve helped tons of people with small things here and there, and they are really grateful for my help, but most likely they could’ve waited a few more hours or days. So if I want to make a positive impact on other people’s lives, I know I can’t do that when I feel poorly about myself and therefore am cranky.
Loving and respecting myself also includes taking care of myself, and I know I can certainly improve on that! So right after I’m done with writing this and have posted, I will go and do my hair, exercise and maybe some yoga to relax before bed! : )
